Kia Commercial. Hamsterdam This or That. Kick it old school
When I first saw this fluffy little guys in the first Kia Soul advertisement, I thought it was pretty genius and creatively intuitive; “A New Way to Roll.” The marketing was simplistic and brought you in with the ‘humor’. The commercial was true to what it was selling instead of relying on gag.
Kia Motors has released a commercial called ‘This or That’ it was shot by hamster, in city of hamster. Two fluffy hamsters showing off their Kia Soul in the city of Hamsters and Heads Turned.
First of all, this clip is a oddly popular Hamsters from Kia’s initial marketing launch for the Soul, the first commercial of which managed to win Nielsen’s Automotive Ad of the Year. Kia Motors was the big winner at the 2010 Nielsen Automotive Advertising Awards, earning the title of Most Effective Automotive Ad of the Year.
The Kia Soul hamster commercial is just a combination 3d animation + Imagination = Amazing. Not only are the Hamsters portrayed with human attributes, but they are rapping like gangsters.
You could get with this, or you could get with that. ‘This,’ in case you were wondering, would be the 2010 Kia Soul, and ‘that’ would be… anything else. Especially a toaster, washing machine or cardboard box and we’ll leave those vehicular associations up to you to.
I’m not too sure if the persona of the hamsters being rappers , unless that was the demographic they were targeting for. I would think they just came upon the song and went from there. Either way it’s a hilariously creative commercial with still the same charm, but just more in your face.
As far as we’re concerned at least, is the use of Black Sheep’s The Choice is Yours as the musical accompaniment to the Alien Green Soul and its urban backdrop. Also note that the character’s so-called Hamstar clothing will soon be available for purchase by fans at hamstarclothing.com.
